Banquet Hall

In 1879 the magnificent panelled banqueting hall, designed by Alfred Waterhouse was built. Waterhouse was possibly the most influential of architects in the late 19th century, designing classic architecture such as Manchester Town Hall and the Natural History Museum in London.

Why not go all out and celebrate an occasion and let us make it memorable – birthdays, anniversaries or even corporate functions. From intimate dinners in the atmospheric Wine Cave, or a hearty Sunday lunch, The Banqueting Hall has the makings of an unforgettable affair.

Garden

Garden

Construction of the grounds began in the autumn of 1850 with the rubble filled terraces being covered with layers of fertile soil. Tropical plants from the family's connections oversees where planted and sheltered by tall trees. The gardens where compared to Lake Como, Italy, by William Robinson in his 1879 book the 'English Flower Garden', referencing the informal planting of imported plants in the setting of the serene Menai Strait and 'Purple Snowdonia' mountain range. Captain Verney's stepmother was Frances Nightingale, Florence Nightingale's sister who was reported to have planted an oak tree in the Château's grounds. Parts of the garden was designed by Lady Sarah to represent the polish jewels but it actually looks like the French. Today the grounds are full of old and new plant with magnificent view over Snowdonia.

We cannot thank you all enough for making the day perfect.
Every member of staff from bar staff to the guys cleaning up as we left, were amazing and the day would not have been the same without them all.

Our guests kept saying all night how lovely, helpful and organised they all were.

It is always difficult to decide where to go for a meal and to keep everyone happy and without doubt everyone thoroughly enjoyed the afternoon.  We had fantastic food and professional service, so thank you again.

Just a quick note to thank you so much for helping to make our daughter's wedding day so special.  The venue was superb as were you and the other Château Rhianfa staff.  We all had a most enjoyable day and apart from the weather (which could have been kinder) we wouldn't have changed a thing.

I would like to extend a great big Thank You to all at Château Rhianfa who made my two day 70th Birthday celebrations so memorable. The cleaning staff who ensured that all our rooms were immaculate. The outside staff who made sure that the lovely gardens were in the peak of condition. The Chef and catering staff who prepared all of our incredibly delicious food. The waiting staff who attended to our every need and the management who ensured everything ran like clockwork .All my guests commented on how friendly, efficient and helpful all the hotel staff were. Nothing was too much trouble. I shall be back for my 80th!!
